I created an overview of the skills you need to acquire to work as a digital fashion designer:

šŸ‘š 3D Modelling

This is the foundational skill for creating digital garments. You will need to learn how to create 3D models of clothing using software specifically dedicated to creating digital clothing. However, you can create or enhance your creations in general programs for 3D modelling. This will involve learning about polygons, meshes, sculpting, and other essential concepts.

šŸ‘š Texturing

Texturing is what gives your garments a realistic and appealing look. You will learn how to create and apply textures to your 3D models. This will involve learning about materials, mapping, and shaders.

šŸ‘š Animation

Animation is a great way to bring your digital garments to life. Therefore it is great to learn how to animate your garments. This will involve learning about keyframing, rigging, and physics simulations.

šŸ‘š Fashion Design Principles

While digital fashion is a digital medium, it's still important to understand the principles of traditional fashion design. This will include learning about color theory, patternmaking, draping, and garment construction.

šŸ‘š Computer Graphics Concepts

Understanding the basics of computer graphics will help you create more realistic and visually appealing digital garments. This will include learning about lighting, shadows, reflections, and color spaces.

In addition to these technical skills, it's also important to have a strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer preferences, and the latest technologies. This will help you create digital garments that are both innovative and marketable šŸ§„šŸ„¼šŸ‘ššŸ‘–šŸ‘—
